I was a camper there & thought it was the best camp I had ever attended. Because I was a camper there I know first hand what a high standard the camp sets and maintains. It was professional and super organized as I remember it. We were encouraged to go slightly out of our comfort zone but never where we were fearful. There was never pressure or judgement. It was fun and we always felt like we'd accomplished something. I remember we were given plenty of time for fun, laughter and songs aside from any physical challenges we had. I felt there was a good balance with everything we did.

What makes TSC special to me is its history and community. I grew up going to several different camps as a camper, and working at many different camps as well. The summer of 2022 I was honestly nervous to be going to yet another new camp, but right away I was embraced by my fellow staff, and was able to become a part of a camp family stronger than any of the camps I have been to before. Almost everyone there truly loves the camps and are like family to each other, both during the summer and throughout the year, in a way I haven't seen before. All of the staff support and learn from each other. I loved working with passionate staff and curious campers, and feeling like I was contributing to part of something bigger, while still passing on life changing experiences to campers. TSC has such a strong history and community, and I think a lot of that community comes from the longer expeditions. One of the things I loved most about September camp was meeting camp alumni and hearing about their experiences with the camp through the decades, and I am excited to be a part of carrying the spirit of TSC onwards into future years.

2022 Wapomeo Guide

It was a tough go for my son to get to camp this year. This was our last go at trying camp for him this year. We had decided that if it didn't go well we'd find something different. Maybe Ahemk wasn't his fit.

Since he came home from camp this summer he has changed in so many ways.

Our usually anxious, scared and not-so-confident child is NONE of those things.

He has come home from camp so much more confident, fighting us less on the small things and his negative spiral has, for now, not been back.

From the moment he got off the bus he seemed to walk taller.

I am so grateful for his staff and those who connected with him. I do hope you can pass on this message to his counsellor. I really want him to know that he made an impact on him. It is also super important to note that part of what he tells us that made a huge difference for him this year were the kids. He just felt they were a better fit for him and he just had a great time.

We have been getting daily stories of his time with you. I can't thank you all enough and I hope the change him will remain throughout the year. I think it's safe to say he'll be back next year!

Our kids came out so unbelievably happy, inspired, restored, confident, laughing and crying as they hugged their new friends goodbye. The only ones happier were parents like us to see how right we were to trust them to your care and those of the counsellors.
Thank you for a wonderful experience for the kids - all of our kids came back asking to go back and go back longer and motivated to get to the long trips.

July 1st, 2020 marked the first time in 14 years I was not at camp during the start of July. Crushed the soul a little bit, 100th anniversary summer will be one to remember, let's get after it.

Camp has always been a place where I don't have any stress and am always having fun. TSC taught me to love canoe trip and I will forever be grateful for that

Working with TSC was by far one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Thank you for the experience and the opportunity to have worked with such an amazing camp and organization!

Camp is my happy place, somewhere I can relax, and have fun with some of my best friends in the world. It also has helped shape me as a person, teaching me life lessons I use every day.

Aidan (Ahmek Camper to become CIT this year – age 16)

Summer camp is unique in its ability to build character and confidence. Growing up nothing changed me as much as camp did. Canoe trips taught me more about relationships and leadership than any of the sports I played. Now that I am a counsellor my biggest joy is watching and helping kids develop confidence and make lifelong friends over the course of the summer.

Nick (Ahmek Counsellor – camper for 9 years, staff for 4)

Our three children can’t wait to get back to Ahmek and Wapomeo next summer. Each year they seem to come back from camp full of greater self-confidence and independence. We attribute their love for the camps to the fantastic staff who have always treated our kids like family. We are so fortunate to have had such a great experience so far and we look forward to more in the years ahead.
