Buses From camp

  • To Montreal

    Arrival Point: Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites (6700 Trans-Canada Hwy, Pointe-Claire, QC H9R 1C2)

    Arrival Time: 3:30pm approximately

    Please go to BACK PARKING LOT. 

  • To Ottawa

    Arrival Point: Notre Dame High School (710 Broadview Ave, Ottawa, ON K2A 2M2)

  • To Toronto

    Arrival Point: Larry Grossman Forest Hill Memorial Arena ( 340 Chaplin Crescent, Toronto, ON M5N 2N3)

Please do not drive into Camp Ahmek to pick up campers. Please see below for appropriate pick up times at Canoe Lake Portage Store.

Depart by Plane

  • By Plane (Full Session, Month and 12 Day Campers)

    Campers departing by plane will take the bus from camp, to the Pearson International Airport in Toronto (YYZ).

    Campers should be booked on the first flight home AFTER 2pm (Toronto time) at Pearson International Airport on the last day of camp.  If a flight is missed, or cannot be booked until the following day, campers can once again stay in the hotel with our staff escorts, and the cost will be billed to you.

    On the registration form, please indicate the level of supervision necessary for your camper. We have an Overnight option for campers whose flights arrive the day before the session start date as well as a Meet & Greet option for those arriving the day of. Both options are at an additional cost which will be charged to your account once flight information is received. 

    Please complete the Airport Form found on the registration account. You can log in here. For all campers arriving by plane and send it in to info@taylorstattencamps.com. If your camper is flying as an unaccompanied minor, please contact the Business Office as soon as possible. Please return this form by May 15th to ensure you camper has space on the bus.

    Please DO NOT send return home plane tickets to campers at camp. All tickets, passports, etc., must be managed by administration at the Taylor Statten Camps to ensure nothing is lost. If a camper arrives at Camp with tickets for the trip home, the tickets – along with his or her passport – will be collected and then given back to each camper at the appropriate time. Please advise your camper of this procedure.  In addition, please let the Camp Business Office know if your child is traveling home using a paperless electronic ticket.  This will help us facilitate a smooth return home.

Driving Directions

We ask that campers not be driven directly into or out of camp. All drop-offs and pickups will take place at the Canoe Lake Portage Store. Parents of Wapomeo campers will not be able to visit the island, on the first day of camp. All Wapomeo Campers: Please have life jacket easily accessible for pontoon boat ride for the younger campers and a War Canoe paddle for older campers.

  • From Toronto and Western Areas

    Highway 400 North to Barrie. From Barrie follow Highway 11 North towards Huntsville.

    Take Highway 60 East for 33 km to the Algonquin Park entrance.

    Continue on Highway 60 after the Algonquin Park West Gate Permit Office for 15 km (approx. 10 mi.) until you reach The Portage Store exit (km 14) for Wapomeo families or Arowhon Road (km 15) for Ahmek families. There is a Ministry of Natural Resources Plane Hangar on right side of road.

    Turn left on the Arowhon Road and follow for 3.2 km.

    Please park vehicles at our Upper Parking Lot (left side on Arowhon Road) and follow the footpath down to our Business Office.

  • From Montreal, Ottawa and Eastern Areas

    Highway 417 to Highway 17 from Ottawa to Renfrew.

    At Renfrew, take Highway 60 West to Algonquin Park East Gate Permit Office and continue for 42 km to the Portage Store for Wapomeo families or Arowhon Road for Ahmek families.

    Turn right on Arowhon Road follow for 3.2 km.

    Please park vehicles at our Upper Parking Lot (left side on Arowhon Road) and follow our footpath down to our Business Office.
